Moving out?

The notice period is always one calendar month from the date on which the tenant gives notice to terminate the lease. The notice period is calculated from the end of the month in which the notice was received by the landlord.

Termination of lease agreements

Notice of termination should be given in writing by completing the attached form, by email or by completing a form at the property management office.

The notice period is one full calendar month, calculated from the last day of the month in which the notice was given. Give notice as early as possible.

Cleaning when moving out

The apartment should be cleaned thoroughly so that the next tenant can move in without having to clean. If cleaning has been neglected, the landlord has the right to deduct the cost from the security deposit or invoice it separately. Please also note that the storage room should be completely emptied before you move out. Remove any locks and leave the storage room in a clean condition.

Moving out

The condition of the apartment at the end of the tenancy shall correspond to the condition at the start of the tenancy, taking into account normal wear and tear. An inspection is carried out in connection with moving out, no later than two weeks after the end of the tenancy. The security deposit is refunded within one month if no negligence can be demonstrated. Other areas such as balconies, cold storage rooms and attic storage rooms are also inspected. Any damage is documented and the tenant is responsible for the costs.

Relocation notification

Notify the post office and the magistrate of your move. Also remember to notify all companies you are a customer of about your move.

Services related to housing

Services associated with the residence, such as electricity contracts and fixed internet subscriptions, should be cancelled or transferred.

Waste

Large items of waste should be taken directly to the waste disposal site; they must not be disposed of in the building’s waste bins. Start packing well in advance to make the move go more smoothly. Sell or give away items that someone else might need but that you no longer have any use for.

Termination of tenancy

A rental agreement that is valid until further notice shall terminate upon expiry of the notice period. The notice period shall be calculated from the last day of the calendar month in which the notice of termination was given. When the tenant terminates the rental agreement, the notice period shall be one month.

Date of termination of lease agreement

The date of termination of the lease is the date on which the lease ends due to termination.

Moving day

The moving date is the weekday immediately following the date on which the lease expires. If the tenant has terminated the lease, the court may not postpone the moving date at the tenant’s request.

Cohabitation

Persons living in a cohabiting relationship are jointly and severally liable for the obligations arising from the tenancy agreement if they live together in an apartment that they or one of them has rented. Even the party who has not rented the apartment is liable for the obligations arising from the tenancy agreement for as long as they continue to live there after the other party has moved out.
